There is always a start to something, or at least that is what I was told growing up. It seems so logical, yet contradictory if you think about the Bible. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” I suppose if you take it in a literal meaning, one would assume that the beginning was when He created the heavens and the earth. If you took it further though, you’d question what was actually the beginning and where exactly the beginning was for God. Of course, in my opinion, he always was, which is hard to explain in itself.
Aside from that, I started an “official” website that allows me to have my very own name ending in .com
It looks pretty legitimate, for a little bit. Until you realize how easy it is for anyone to make a website of their own, even kids as young as fifteen years old. Though I won’t compare myself, I took it a step further and hope this is both worth the time and the money that I am putting in.
I will try not to completely bore anyone with elaborate details about my life, but I will give access to what might appeal to people.
Today, before class, a friend and I went to Splendid China. For those of you who aren’t aware of what that is, I’ll try to explain. Splendid China, according to Internet sources, was built in 1993 in Orlando, Florida. it cost over $100 million to build and took 2 years. The theme park included similar models of The Great Wall of China, Terra Cotta Warriors, The Forbidden City and Potala Palace. The once president of the attraction was recalled to China and placed under house arrest, in part because of allegations of financial mismanagement from his handling of Splendid China. It was closed in 2003 and has been that way since.
On our visit to Splendid China, we took some pretty interesting pictures and walked the deserted 76 acre park. Being just the two of us in the desolate, once thriving park, it had its eerie moments. We heard kids yelling, though there were neighborhoods nearby to explain that. At one point, we heard sirens from at least two different police cars and it lasted awhile but eventually faded off into the distance. We ventured inside a couple buildings and read the strange graffiti markings on the walls. Overall, it was an enjoyable visit and perhaps we will visit again sometime.
